My creative process draws heavily on my belief in the evocative power of sensory memory... strong emotional experiences, rites of passages, dreams we all connect with through our senses...these are the foundation of my "sensory art". Creations that draw out the connections to beauty across time and space. SensoryLis
Artist Bio
The Roots
Lisaura Lobo spent her childhood and early years between the shores of Lake Maracaibo and the mountains of Los Andes, Merida, Venezuela. Lisaura got the passion for visual art at a very young age and while attending university also took art courses at the Los Andes University Fine Art School, ULA UNAVID.
She graduated as an Economist from Los Andes University and developed a successful professional career for over 20 years working in the aluminum industries in Venezuela.
In the meantime...Brazil
In 2009 Lisaura moved with her family to Belo Horizonte, Brazil where she had the opportunity to refocus her visual artist career and spent about three years studying continuing education courses in painting, drawing, art history, sculpture in clay,
portraits, and others art subjects at the prestigious Guinard School.
And then... Canada
Since 2012 she lives in Canada. The inspiration for her creative process draws heavily in her believe of the evocative power of one’s memory and the perception of our outside world. Her senses - catalyst to this “sensory art” - lead her to memories, experiences, dreams, visceral moments, and lifetime rite of passages that become the foundation of her selection for the themes, which represent her artistic vision. The search for a deeper understanding of the sensory art experience is her lifelong endeavour, which she permanently continues studying and testing, through artistic work and her academic training.
